Potential Hosted PBX Scenarios

There are a host of different scenarios for how a VoIP Phone Solution can be setup, some of the features are technology dependent, while other depend on your physical site requirements. We’ve listed some popular scenarios below:

CloudPBX and Remote Workers

When your main phone number is called, callers can be presented with a number of options:

  • If your sales people are the road the Sales option (press 1 for sales) can take people directly to the sales persons mobile number, while
  • Accounts option (press 2 for accounts) can take callers to the teleworking bookkeeper who is based in rural Australia (or even overseas) and the
  • Service option (press 3 for service) can be answered in your office.

If none of these options are selected your callers can be sent to a serviced office that takes all general incoming calls.

Hosted PBX and Office VoIP Phone Extensions (with Call Group)

When your main phone number is called

  • All of the phones in your office ring (this is called a Call Group), and
  • Any member of staff can answer the call

If no one answers within 45 seconds the caller can be sent to a serviced office or voicemail-to-email service that answers the incoming call and enables an email to be sent to one contact.

Hosted PBX with VoIP Phone Extensions (and Line Hunt)

When your main phone number is called

  • The main office phone in your office rings,
  • While the phone is ringing Music on hold is playing,
  • If the main phone is not answered, the call will ring on a second phone (this is called Line Hunt)
  • If the call is not answered within 1 minute the caller hears an automatic message informing them that they are in a call queue and they are told which position they are in on the queue.

If the call is not answered while in the call queue after 10 minutes they can be forwarded to any other number or phone answering service.
